Insurance is included: $1,000,000 cargo insurance, liability and worker’s comp. Our company transports specific instruments (pianos, organs, & harpsichords) and their bench. Piano Dollies may be transported for an additional fee but are not covered by insurance. The following factors that affect pricing include but are not limited to: Type and size of instrument Pickup and delivery location Number of steps, stairs, and tight turns at both locations Any special/unique features on the instrument; including player units and humidity devices. Additional charges apply if any details of the move are different than originally described. **There will be a fine beginning at $100 for sending anything with the instrument besides the bench. Processing fees may be incurred for any changes made to your order after it has been processed. Scheduling: Once the order is placed; local movers try to schedule pickup within 14 days. Delivery on average is 30-75 days from when the item is picked up. The piano will remain with the local mover until our semi truck is available to pick up. Once we pick up the instrument from our local mover, you will receive an invoice and your piano will be making its way toward its final delivery destination. Time frames given are approximate not guarantees due to unknown factors, weather or other circumstances beyond our control. Our local mover typically gives a 2-4 hour window on the date scheduled. We do not give out the local movers name or phone number in order to give them time to plan their schedules. Payment: Payment is due in full before final delivery to the home. *Payment for pianos that are brought to our warehouse for storage will be due upon receipt of the instrument into our warehouse. You will only be charged for the pick-up and bringing the instrument back to our storage facility. Delivery charges will be given once the piano is pulled from storage and the final destination fees are determined. If piano is held for 2 or more weeks without payment, storage fees will be applied. Delinquency of 90 days or more with no payments will result in the instrument becoming property of Walter Piano Transport. Liability: We carry cargo insurance on every trailer. The instrument and bench are covered for their current market value in the event of a total loss (not new replacement cost). An inspection report is conducted at pick-up. If a claim is placed, our company will conduct an investigation into said claim. If damage is determined to have occurred during transport, Walter Piano Transport will take responsibility and will determine the best course of action to remedy the situation. All damage repairs will be managed by Walter Piano Transport and must have prior approval before any repairs are completed. If any legal proceedings are necessary, they must take place in Elkhart County, Indiana. Damage claims must be filed to: claimsresource@walterpianotransport.com. If a damage report is not submitted within 1 business day of the piano being delivered, your claim for damage will automatically be denied. If you are not present upon delivery, it is still your responsibility to examine the piano and report any damage within the above time frame. If you do not accept delivery of the piano to the final destination within 14 days of delivery to the local mover, you must make arrangements with them to examine the piano or any claims will be forfeited. Walter Piano Transport will not cover the following: Mechanical working condition: including pedal lyre assembly, action, and player units. Anything left inside the bench; including music, caster cups, and piano covers. ● Finish repairs and after market finishes not done by us, electronics, extremely fragile components (glass), soundboard, and blanket/pad marks. Disclaimer - If a piano is in excess of 20 years old, the customer shall be regarded as own insurer and shall bear any loss to the actual value of the piano except in the event of a total loss. We are not liable if the instrument will not fit up a staircase or around a tight turn. We do our best to get any pictures/measurements ahead of time but there are occasional situations that it just will not fit. The customer must provide an alternative location in the home where the instrument will fit. To protect yourself from fraud and/or receiving a product that was falsely represented, we recommend only buying from reputable piano dealers and/or having you or someone you trust view the product in person before completing the purchase. Walter Piano Transport does not discriminate against the type, make, model, or condition of a piano for transport. Therefore, our company will not be responsible for reporting the condition of the piano to the delivery end upon pickup.
